A Season of Hummingbirds.

One south Texas morning in the season of hummingbird migration, a little hummer hit the window and landed right on my chair. I slowly got up, picked her up and moved her to the table for observation. She was a little stunned but still alive. We sat there for 10 mins, I was very close observing her eyelid movement, her feathers and size…. Because the next week I was drawing and painting her on my paper. This GOD wink moment answered a prayer to overcome this part of the painting that I had been delaying…. My artwork is about documenting the plants, the relationship between plants and seasons in my backyard! We have planted our garden for pollinators, hummingbirds and songbirds in the winter months. What joy to watch them feed off these plants….
